It is shown incessantly. Personally I am a fan of the show, but I believe that I have seen every episode several times now. It is on every weeknight at 7:00 then some nights at 7:30 and later in the evening an “adults only special”. If that wasn’t enough, it is also shown on Go (Channel 99) and they even ran a special the other week when I believe it ran for three or four hours, that’s 6-8 episodes consecutively. Who is watching all of these repeats? I hope the advertisers are getting a heavy discount on their fees, as the number of people seeing their ads shown in these time slots must be minimal by now.
The same process is being repeated with The Big Bang Theory. Once again a good show, but it’s being done to death. Have Channel 9 never heard of the theory of diminishing returns? The Big Bang Theory has probably still got some mileage left, but the number of viewers for Two and Half Men now must be negligible. The worst of this policy is that it cheapens the show and when new episodes are available people will either intentionally not watch them, or avoid them believing that they are another re-run that they have already seen.
On the subject of The Big Bang Theory I was reading on IMDB recently a bunch of posts by fans of the show on which cast member was dating Kaley Cuoco. Strangely most were guessing either Johnny Galecki (Leonard) or Jim Parsons (Sheldon). Now I am guessing that the contributors in that forum are quite young people, because unless I am badly mistaken both of these actors are gay and more likely to be dating each other than the lovely Kaley.
This reminded me of the situation on Australian Idol a few years ago, when the forums were running hot with the subject of Anthony Callea’s sexuality. The tweenies got very irate if anyone suggested that he was gay and many claimed to have dated him, females that is, or knew a girl that had. Of course Anthony ‘came out’ some time later when his 15 minutes of fame was in the last 5. But you have got to love the innocence and optimism of these young girls.

i like the indian guy in The Big Bang Theory, i thought he is cool:;.
He certainly has some good lines and the fact that he can’t speak around attractive women continues to raise a laugh.
Channel 9 have stitched up the public again with regard to Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory. They made a big fuss over the new episodes, fast tracked from the US etc. Showed a couple of them and then reverted to repeats, or simply moved the air times around.
What is the story with these broadcasters? Don’t they know this is the way to kill a show? Or do they simply enjoying messing with their viewers? We deserve better, much better.
I am sorry to see all the problems Charlie Sheen is having that are being reported in the press at the moment. He is exhibiting all of the behaviour of an addict, especially denial. I am sure he is having a good time most of the time, but this kind of lifestyle always has a come down. All of the best drinkers and druggies eventually quit or die. I hope that Charlie can quit and find happiness in safer pleasures and make more wise decisions.
There is talk of the series coming to an end because of Charlie‘s behaviour and I am pretty sure that it will. That may be the wake up call that he needs, well one of them.
More news on the Charlie Sheen front. He has been sacked from Two and a Half Men, which seemed inevitable. It’s hard to run a comedy series about a serial self abuser, when the stars life has crashed so spectacularly due to the same excesses. No one has stated that the series is finished, but I really do not see how it could carry on now, either with or without Sheen.
On the positive side, in an interview with Life & Style magazine, Sheen says, “I’m really starting to lose my mind. I’m ready to call anyone to help.” Well, recognising the problem is the first step. Unfortunately he also said, on his Webcast show Sheens Korner, “A high treason has occurred. Mark this warlock’s word – defeat is not an option.”
Let’s hope in his more rational periods he gets the help that he needs.
